A Wellness Upgrade Perfect for Aspenwood House Guests

  • Posted on

Iron Mountain Hot Springs has officially opened its Sauna Summit expansion, introducing five distinct outdoor saunas and three new plunge pools to its already impressive lineup of wellness amenities. The debut marks a major milestone for the resort, arriving just as it celebrates its 10th anniversary and completes a series of recent upgrades, including a locker room renovation and spring remodel.

A New Chapter in Wellness at Iron Mountain

Construction on the Sauna Summit began in early 2025, following the success of Iron Mountain’s 21+ WorldSprings area, which opened in 2023. Together, these additions reflect the resort’s long‑term vision of becoming one of the country’s premier wellness destinations.

Perched just above WorldSprings, the new 21+ Sauna Summit offers:

  • Five outdoor saunas, each inspired by global traditions and designed with unique temperatures, materials, and therapeutic benefits

  • A magnesium-rich pool (104°F)

  • A potassium-rich pool (98°F)

  • A 45°F cold plunge for contrast therapy

The saunas range from a Turkish‑inspired steam room to a Finnish dry sauna, a red‑light clay sauna, an aromatherapy sauna infused with eucalyptus, and a Polish‑inspired salt sauna. Many feature aromatherapy or chromotherapy elements, creating a full‑spectrum wellness experience.

What Makes the Sauna Summit Special

Each sauna offers its own style of heat, humidity, and sensory experience:

  • Turkish Hammam Steam Room — supports skin detoxification and respiratory relief

  • Finnish Barrel Sauna — dry heat up to 194°F, ideal for circulation and muscle recovery

  • Red Light Clay Sauna — radiant heat paired with chromotherapy for joint comfort and cellular support

  • Aromatherapy Sauna — eucalyptus‑infused steam and essential‑oil “snowballs” for customizable relaxation

  • Salt Sauna — dry heat with a salt wall to support respiratory health and skin balance

Guests can move between the saunas and plunge pools to create their own contrast‑therapy circuit, or simply relax and enjoy the mountain views. The resort plans to continue expanding, with new riverside loungers, grassy relaxation areas, and additional outdoor spaces coming this summer.
